Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation (MAC) is a Community Controlled Organisation and provides a range of services for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people living within the Ovens Murray region.

MAC was established in 1994 by Local Aboriginal Community members with the aim to have a healthy and proud community through motivation, education and cultural acknowledgment and giving a sense of belonging.
About the Position
The Housing Officer is responsible for supporting our families with their housing needs and assisting tenants to maintain their tenancy. The position will deliver high-quality tenancy and property management for Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation ensuring relevant legislation, regulations, organisational policies, and procedures are followed. This position will also manage the related property maintenance and administrative functions of this position.
Key Duties
The Housing Officer is directly responsible for the following outcomes:

• Provide high quality tenancy management
• Quality services that anticipate and exceed client expectations
• Ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient operation of rental collection and arrears recovery systems
• Conduct condition inspections and reports, tenancy sign up, entry procedures, lease and rent reviews, and exit procedures
• Liaise with Housing Maintenance in relation to tenanted and vacated property maintenance
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with the region’s welfare and Aboriginal community organisations
• Provide support to other MAC team members in the delivery of tenancy services and wrap around holistic services
• Attend and contribute to internal team and other external/relevant meetings
• Ensure administrative tasks, reporting, complaints management, compliance, quality, and accountability requirements are conducted to Corporate and statutory standards.
• Financial management in accordance with Corporate and statutory guidelines
• Maintain accurate property and tenancy data and report as required
• Represent MAC at VCAT
• Provide information and advice to tenants to assist in the sustainability of the tenancy
• Ensure fair and transparent property allocation processes
The Ideal Candidate will have:
• Experience in the community housing sector and/or property real estate.
• An understanding of and sensitivity to homelessness issues.
• Strong attention to detail with a passion for providing quality customer service.
• A professional with good communication and time management skills.
• Knowledge of tenancy management practices, procedures, and tenancy agreements.
• A clear understanding of the residential tenancies act.
• Has intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills.
• Works independently, with initiative, sound judgment, attention to detail and delivers high-quality results.
