Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation has two buses, a 12 seater commuter bus and a 19 seater bus (an older 1988 model). The Transport Officer coordinates all transport provided using the buses. Several casual drivers are also employed.
Transport is provided for community members attending educational courses, community events and various programs offered by the organisation such as the weekly playgroup and weekly exercise program. Children are also transported to and from the preschool and transport is provided for the timber course students (‘Build Ya Life’) who are picked up from home in both Albury and Wodonga.
The Wodonga TAFE Institute hires the 19 seater bus (TAFE pays the MAC driver) to provide regular bus runs each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for all Aboriginal students attending TAFE.
Members of the community also use the buses with their own driver for community activities.
Planning to improve the transport services include the need to purchase a new bus to replace the 1988 model, ensuring that the new bus has seatbelts fitted for safety reasons.
