Contact: Local Justice Worker

The Aboriginal local justice program exists to reduce the number of Indigenous people who reside in the Wodonga region who come into contact with and/or are at the risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice system.

The program targets Indigenous offenders undertaking mandated community work orders. The Local Justice worker attends regular meetings and establishes positive partnerships with stakeholders. These include the sheriff’s office, Victoria police and other Justice agencies. The aim of these meetings and liaisons is the mutual sharing of knowledge, promotion of the program and building the capacity to improve justice outcomes for Indigenous people.
